City of Weston Hats + Work Shirts
I miss those auctions - actually I miss all auctions. When I had my first "real job" out of TAMU I worked for the Payless Shoes corporate office in Topeka, Kansas. I was young and single and had dreams of one day breaking out of the golden handcuffs that corporate life had provided. I had big dreams of having my own shop one day and I spent most Saturdays at local farm auctions buying things that I could one day sell.
Fast forward many years later to a spring day auction where some buddies and I split a box that had old City of Weston worker hats. I'm guessing those original hats were from the 70's or maybe the 80's. The one I got was well worn and perfectly broke in. Everyone wanted me to give them that hat and of course the answer was NO. So I decided to make our own.
My plan was to only make 3 dozen and then no more. They were to be an exclusive item that we only offered one time. But then someone's dog ate their hat (that's actually happened a few times, what's with yall's dogs?) and they BEGGED me to make more. I think this is the fourth time we've made them now and I'll probably wait at least another year before we do it again. In the meantime we had a City of Weston worker shirt made - instead of having the tag sewn to the shirt it's printed, just something a little different. Otherwise these are the real deal work shirts that last FOREVER and just get better with time.
I made a video about all of these things below if you want to see them up close. Check it out and as always, text anytime with any questions at all!! 816-878-2278
