We Loved this Kansas City Restaurant: Billie's Grocery
Last week we tried a restaurant in Kansas City called Billie's Grocery and it was fantastic. The food was fresh and delicious, and there were a lot of options if you travel with a picky crowd. In addition to owning several other restaurants the proprietor of Billie's Grocery, Robin Krause, is also a Nutritional Therapist Practitioner which means that the food is real - and good for both your body and your soul.
The girls and I all had a bowl of some kind - mine was the Thai Bowl which included rice noodles, red cabbage, pickled ginger, cilantro, almond chili sauce and green apple among other things. I added shrimp as a protein. Christy had a beautiful cocktail, they also offer cans of beer and NA spirits as well.
Desserts looked amazing but we will have to go back for that. I also saw a table full of people who had gotten sandwiches and french fries. That's definitely what I will go for next time - I have my mind set on the Miso Wild Salmon Burger on a brioche roll.
Billies' Grocery is located near Union Hill in Midtown Kansas City, Missouri. If you're in that neighborhood on a First Friday weekend be sure to visit Urban Mining - they have a amazing line up of vintage dealers with very well curated findings. You'll love it, but check their website because they are only open one weekend a month.
Let us know in the comments if you have been to Billie's Grocery and what you had, I want to hear all about it - or any other restaurants in the KC area we need to try!
