Our April 2024 project has been decorating the living space in the Hillcrest Designers Showcase House and it has pushed me into creative overdrive as we are only using found items at the Hillcrest thrift shops.

In an effort to figure out what to do with that skinny frame on the left I’ve looked and looked - circled each Hillcrest thrift shop 3 times - two days in a row - it was time to be done. So I went with my original idea. 

A few weeks ago I found and an old canvas bag with the original addresses still visible - faded but there. So I cut it up and used the skinny frame around one of the addresses. After my first pass at it I realized it didn’t quite fill the frame so I cut grommets from another piece of the bag to add to the top.

I’ve been a thrifter - antiquer - I brake at garage sales - estate sales make me giddy - kind of girl for most of my life. This project has been so much fun; my creative juices will be bubbling for a long time after this one!

More importantly the project suppprts a great cause funding housing for people looking for a hand up. Hillcrest is empowering people to change their lives for themselves and future generations.
